Una, nessuna, centomila
Una, nessuna, centomila is a paper-based archive designed to address the lack of visibility of women in the history of graphic design by highlighting the female figures who have influenced the field. The project also aims to promote a more inclusive narrative – placing female role models alongside male ones – and to encourage thinking about the persistent gap in opportunities and recognition between men and women, particularly in the professional sphere. The research begins with an overview of key moments in women’s emancipation from the late 19th century to the present day, tracing the evolution of women’s roles throughout the 20th century. It then highlights ten influential graphic designers from the last century and presents eight projects linked to women’s emancipation. The project also includes a list of other women in the field discovered during the research process. Finally, a brief interview explores the perspective of a professional currently active in the industry.
